"Did you bring your body with you?"

I help women bring back confidence in their bodies.  This will bring forth their talents to the world… to make more money and have fun!

Sound like something you’re interested in? Read on…

Confidence

Today, I want to help you learn to better love yourself, so that you can better love others.

You can begin by answering these brief questions to give us both insights.

Let me explain with a story…

============================

THE PRINCESS AND HER KNIGHT

============================

Once upon a time, a beautiful princess moved through her days and nights doing what all princesses do: smiling, curtsying, nodding and dancing the mechanical dance of banquets and formality.

She dreamed things would change and that she would meet the perfect Prince for her.

After years and years of playing along and ignoring her own voice, the princess suddenly had an epiphany!

She would never be alone again, because she had just discovered why her Prince never came…

She had not listened to what her body was telling her. When she listened to her body she felt healthier, had more energy, plus she ran the kingdom better.

She realized she needed to have a good relationship with her body, or how could she have a good relationship with someone else?

================================================

BODY AND RELATIONSHIP: WHAT’S THE CONNECTION?

================================================

This February, isn’t it time to learn how to start loving your body… so that you can have healthy relationships with others!

Love yourself

The first step is to have a healthy relationship with yourself. So if you are even mildly interested…

Then take a few minutes to answer these questions. These answers will help me better get to know you, so that I can better partner with you to create your greater purpose.

The month of February is a reminder of love and relationships…whether with others or with yourself or both.

And help is here. The first step is to answer these questions.

Let’s get you (or your clients) out in the world to showcase your true talents with body confidence in conjunction with your fun loving nature and talents.

How would you feel if, by loving yourself, you could give love to others?

Let me explain with a story…

============================

THE PRINCESS AND HER KNIGHT

============================

Love yourself

Once upon a time, a beautiful princess moved through her days and nights doing what all princesses do: smiling, curtsying, nodding and dancing the mechanical dance of banquets and formality.

She felt nothing but a longing for a prince, her knight in shining armor, to rescue her from her monotony.

After years and years of playing along and ignoring her own voice, the princess suddenly had an epiphany!

Rejoicing, our princess realized her lonely days were over; she would never be alone again, because she had just discovered why her prince never came.  She didn’t have a good relationship with her body, so how could she have a good relationship with someone else?

BODY AND RELATIONSHIP: WHAT’S THE CONNECTION?

================================================

This February, think about what that inner voice is telling you.  You may be waiting for all these changes to happen, forgetting that they all start with you.

Why not take this “Understand the Voice Within You” survey and then have a conversation with me…

…because when you come from your heart during a conversation, things you never thought about are explored and revealed.

The month of February is a reminder of love and relationships…whether with others or with yourself or both.

This week I want to share with you why I think New Year’s Resolutions are BS.

New Years Resolutions

And honestly, it’s not even about my personal opinion. Studies have shown that New Year’s Resolutions just flat out don’t work.

Have you ever found yourself giving up on your resolutions a few weeks in?

(Haven’t we all)?

=========================

SO, WHY WAIT??

=========================

Why wait until January 1st to get fit? Or create new relationship or (you know the rest of this scenario)

How we can channel the motivation that a New Year brings into the day-to-day?

What if we canned the word “Resolutions” and swapped it for “Motivations”?

 Resolutions stay on the surface:

-Lose 20lbs

-Get a better job

-Find a partner

Motivations speak to the heart of the issue:

-Feel confident and beautiful in my body

-Get the respect and pay I deserve

-Find the love that’s been missing from my life

Energy

===============================

STOP “SHOULD’ING” ON YOURSELF

===============================

What if we stopped asking, “What should I do today?” and started asking, “What would give me energy today?”

Don’t wait till January 1st to force a bunch of “shoulds” on yourself…

  • I should workout five times a week…
  • I should eat a salad for lunch every day…
  • I should work less…

Instead, ask yourself:

What would give me energy today?

In fact, do me a favor… when you wake up tomorrow morning, ask yourself, “What would give me energy today?”

Try it every day for a week, and let me know how it goes by commenting on this blog or posting a message on Facebook.

Let’s move into this New Year with grace, love, hope and fun.

This week I want to share some crazy results from a recent study with you.  The study – from Vanderbilt and Cornell Universities – looked at women, wealth and their weight. And guess what it found?

 =============================

CRAZY STUDY RESULTS BELOW

=============================

Jobs involving face time and interaction with others go to the more attractive, fit, thinner women and come with higher starting salaries as well as opportunities.

High paying

The lower paying jobs, many requiring physical actions, go to the overweight women who tend to remain there until age, retirement, or marriage interrupts their career.

Cornell Professor, John Cawley’s, study found that indeed weight is inversely related to pay… and the same effect does not pertain to men in the same professions.

 =============================

SO, WHAT’S YOUR TAKEAWAY?

=============================

So, what do you think? Are overweight women destined to work lower paying jobs till the end of time?

My answer: HECK NO!

What if the job you get (or don’t get) wasn’t dependent on weight, but on how you carry yourself? On your energy? On your self-esteem?

The focus is ‘how you carry yourself.’ For example: At a social event when a woman walks in with a glow and a happy disposition, graceful body movement and infectious smile and spirit that transforms the whole room…? Do you comment on her figure?

Again my answer: Heck no!

This is what I want for all of us as much as possible….even when you are alone

Remember: you are always in control of your self-esteem.

And if you feel like your weight is negatively affecting your self-esteem… let’s have a conversation. I’ve got some strategies to help you with that.

 Contact me to set up a time this week! Or comment about this below!

I’m sure over the years you have received some great advice or given it.

Well recently I decided to have a contest to see what great advice other Wellness Professionals might be willing to share. The contest was sent out through Self Growth a leading health and wellness site.

The contest had great responses and I want to share one with you that really spoke to me. It comes from Gigi Blackshear (gigiblackshear.com):

WomanSmilinginMirror

My best tip is that when your spirits are low, take 10 minutes and stand in front of the mirror. Look beyond your face and into your own eyes.

Most of us don’t look at ourselves long enough to see the beauty that lies within. We see imperfections and either turn away or begin to criticize ourselves.

However, if you look past the imperfections and past the bad hair day hair, if you look into your own eyes long enough you will begin to see the beauty that we were all created with. The beauty of your spirit! It is there, just look deep enough! It will smile back at you and say that You are enough! Exactly the way you are! Beautiful from the inside out!

What wonderful advice don’t you think?

It’s important to feel good about yourself and communicate with your body.

I would love to hear your thoughts.

self esteem

If you’ve ever struggled with letting the media (skinny models, fad diets, etc.) tell you how you should feel about yourself, this one’s for you.

===============================

THE CHALLENGE: MEDIA OVERLOAD

===============================

Thank God for Eleanor Roosevelt! Every woman knows what it feels like to let someone make you feel bad about yourself.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

So whether it’s skinny models in magazines, super successful actresses on TMZ, an offensive Facebook post or email… whatever… those messages don’t have to dictate how you feel about yourself!

So…if or when other people make you feel bad about you—time to consider the source of all that feedback, and then ignore it, dismiss it, and finally avoid it.

Here’s a better way… are you ready to reclaim your birthright?

===========================

RECLAIMING YOUR BIRTHRIGHT

===========================

Remember when you were a kid? Back before you cared what other people thought about you?

…those were the days…

The good news is your body is still here: ready, willing and looking forward to communicating her truth with you as soon as you are willing to listen.

Are you ready for a mature relationship with your body?

When you re-establish your birthright, that intimate relationship with your body, no one and nothing has the power to make you feel inferior.

Aging

I’m sure you’ve noticed (as I have), that…

The older you get, the more your body changes (sagging skin, added weight, wrinkles, etc.).

And after age 35? You start to notice it even more.

So, what are your options?

  • You could ignore what really makes you sad when you look in the mirror.
  • You could go for laser treatment or plastic surgery
  • Or you could throw out everything delicious in your pantry

And frankly, none of those sound great to me. How about you?

So, instead here are a few reminders for you:

  1. ENJOY every delicious bite to the UTMOST.
  2. Work WITH your body to let you know when you’ve eaten enough.
  3. Appreciate your whole self, especially as you age

Need some guidance with these reminders?  I’ve got lots of experience on this topic.
Anyone can read a few tips… the tough part is implementing them.

Let me coach you through this! Contact me before July 31st and you will receive a 45 minute Self-Acceptance as you Age’ coaching session for half price! (That’s a $75 value)

Let’s go deeper on this, and make it a practical reality in your life!

Scale

How big of an impact do these numbers have on the way you see yourself?

If these numbers are bringing you down, please read on!
From birth, we’ve been sized up by numbers. Right after you get a name, you get a height and weight.

And from then on, numbers continue to play an integral role throughout your lifetime.

Whether it’s your mom’s opinion of how you look, or your doctor telling you to lower your cholesterol (not saying you should not watch your blood test numbers), the numbers keep popping up.

But today, you can take control. And I can help you get there.

Send me your ‘number’ challenge and I will gift you a Healthier You consultation…for free!

The way you see yourself is not merely an issue of physicality. It involves the total you: Body, Mind, and Spirit. I invite you to take tis quick Body Image Survey so that you can become clearer.

Numbers are objective. Numbers provide standards of measurement.
So, why do we let ourselves feel so awful over a number?

Scale
For instance, how do you feel every morning after stepping on the scale in the bathroom?

You have an ideal number in your head, so if your scale doesn’t reflect that number, does that put you in a bad mood for the rest of your day? Why is that number important for your body image?

Wait! Let’s address that in the comments below or with a conversation over the phone.

Free yourself from what is holding you back from being happy with YOU!

Myth-stakes for May

MYTH: “April Showers Bring May Flowers” is a commonly accepted “myth” that creates false expectations for both months. According to the national weather service, measurable rain fall has less to do with the calendar and everything to do with climatic conditions…which vary from year to year and place to place. For instance, in Hawaii other tropical climates, every month produces ageless blossoms.

May FlowersFACT: Regardless of when or where flowers appear, we appreciate their fragrance, color, and the promise of eternal youth.

My Story

“You need a lift,” said the sales person as I was shopping for a new dress for my 55th birthday the last day in April.

After trying on several selections, I found the right one. Smiling, I emerged from the dressing room and asked for her feedback of my selection. Watching her face closely for a reaction, her expression was of stunned surprise, not smiling-not frowning, simply staring straight ahead.

“You need a lift,” she hissed, as she pointed a well-manicured index finger at my breasts.

Huh?” I responded.

“If you intend to wear that dress out in public, you need a better bra…”

‘Better’ as in ‘perky’, as in ‘uplift’, as in ‘younger’—BG, or Before Gravity.

Five years ago, B BKS, or Before Body Knowledge System®, her remarks would have reduced me to tears.

Now? No way! Today, it’s MY WAY!

BKS® identified my comfort level and provided me with the confidence to understand where she was coming from without any need or desire to react to her issues.

One FlowerFor a woman who resists the effects of each passing day on her appearance, this salesperson’s May flowers may never bloom.

And what a tragedy that would be…

Because if she were aware of the support her body gives her every single day, she might accept, even welcome, the comfort her body wants to provide.

Body Knowledge System® supports YOU, your way.

Her perception indicates her estrangement from her body, and the support it’s there to provide, if only she’d open herself to the BKS® option.

Learn more about the origins, the seeds of your judgments, when it applies to others…then tune in to your personal Body Knowledge and smell the flowers…

PS:

Unlike May flowers that are dependent upon the soil, sunshine, and rain,

the flower that is you is never dependent upon the weather or the environment, or

someone else’s opinion of your appearance.

Your outcome stems (pardon the pun) from your input: body, mind, spirit!

I would love to hear your comments.

To your health and happiness,

Stephanie
